Growing up gonks were a bit of a thing in our house….I remember my mum handing me my first one…all googly eyes and fur everywhere….. I’m not going to lie, he wasn’t the most attractive fellow, but endearing all the same. I loved him and have had a love of gonks ever since.  Fast forward a few hundred years (well actually 30 or so) and gonks have exploded on the Christmas Scene. They are a now a firm favourite in our homes for the festive season. However, they’ve changed somewhat from the 80’s, with their hats pulled over their eyes and long bushy beards, very much taking inspiration from the Scandinavian gnomes and goblins in Nordic mythology.
