This week we turned one! I can’t quite believe that it’s been a whole year since we began this rollercoaster of an adventure – and my, what a year it’s been!
I’ve been reflecting this week on how far we’ve come as a business. From that first spark of an idea when I bought a lantern, to a fully working home décor specialist. Collecting Seashells has certainly taught me a thing or two about running a business, about juggling everything, and about me as a person. It’s been an absolute labour of love - allowing me to combine my passion for home accessories and interior design. I feel blessed to be able to do something I love.
But it’s not been without tears, late nights, early mornings, more tears, and a lot of grit and determination.
If I’m honest with you there were many, many times when I wasn’t sure we would make it to the year. I thought – ‘hey, I can make a website and then orders will just come flooding in’. But no. It’s so, so much more than that. Everything has been a learning curve. But now, we have an amazing business with beautiful products, a strong brand, and with that a great customer base. Yay!
Running Collecting Seashells hasn’t just been about me. There’s no way I would be here without the upport I have had around me. Family is at the heart of Collecting Seashells, and this has been true of its evolution - from Lillia helping me pick the name, to my wonderful husband who has always been there to guide me, Jack for all the Social Media guidance, to Katie for all the support she continues to give me daily and Vicky for all the Marketing Support and her husband Shaun who helped build the website
Above all that, of course, we wouldn’t be here without you - our lovely customers. Hand-picking collections and products that help you to add that ‘finishing touch’ to your home is what we are all about.
