ALERT! New Collab Just Launched - Surf's Up!

I have something very exciting to tell you.

A few months ago we discovered the most wonderful handmade products that took my breath away the moment I saw them.

These were incredible sea designs in resin on wood in the most striking colours that were so realistic it looked like you could dive right into them.

I knew the moment I saw them that I wanted to be able to add these to our collection and so set off on a journey to get these pieces commissioned for Collecting Seashells and for you our lovely customers.

The amazing creator of these fabulous products is Tabitha Osborne-Fox, founder of FoxSea Art. Growing up in North Devon and staying in North Cornwall, Harlyn Bay she was lucky enough to become a semi professional bodyboarder and in 2010 she amazingly became British Bodyboarding Champion. Blessed with being able to travel the world surfing, she has a deep knowledge and understanding of the ocean and had a dream to build a career centred around it.

When Covid hit in 2020 the digital transformation consultancy she was working for in London had to close and she found herself back home in Devon and it was during lockdown when she discovered resin and taught herself how to work with it. As a keen artist she had studied art at A-Level and had been painting oceans her whole life, but it was working with resin that really captured her imagination and she connected with it in a way she hadn’t had with other medium. It was clear that this was what she born to do and so with the love and support of her family, this is now what she works at full time and is her dream job.

After first talking with Tabitha I loved her story and the synergy with Collecting Seashells made perfect sense and just felt right, so agreeing to collaborate was an easy decision. The idea that she was a girl from the country who loved the sea as much as I did and could incorporate this into her work through both the designs and the wood she uses just hit the right note and I couldn’t be happier that she agreed to work with us.

So over the last few months I’ve been been patiently waiting for these wonderful pieces to be finished. Last Monday night myself, Katie, Vicky and my little Lillia drove to North Devon and stayed the night at Saunton Beach (literally one of the loveliest places I have ever been by the way!), meeting Tabitha the following morning to collect the products and take some pictures in the setting that inspired this very talented lady to make the pieces she has.

It could not have been more perfect, the stunning setting of the glorious coastline was breathtaking. The miles of golden sand and the unspoilt dunes laid out before us, with the waves of the Atlantic rolling in… it was just stunning.

And so there with my family and Tabitha with her big baby bump, accompanied by her gorgeous little girl and Mum, we set up the products on the beach, photographed them and launched the start of a wonderful collaboration which I am delighted to be able to bring to you now.

The collection consists of coasters in sets of two or four and are available in ocean blue or green. We also have lovely bamboo serving platters in these colours with the addition of the striking grey which I just love. The Picture Frames are my absolute favourite and I already have one sitting pride of place in the office with a photo of us all at the beach. There is also the fantastic tooth brush holder and soap dispenser which will look amazing in the bathroom and finally, in homage to our lovely creator, the surf board is a vibe we simply couldn’t resist. A lot of time and love has gone into creating these pieces and there is something so special in knowing they have a true story behind their creation.

As part of our commitment to add new and exclusive products to our offering we are delighted to be the only online home decor store selling these gorgeous pieces and I hope you love them as much I do. I can’t wait to hear what you think of them and I’m so looking forward to them becoming part of your home and your story. This is a limited run for now until autumn as Tabitha will be off having her baby over the next few months. We expect these to sell out quickly so please don’t chance being disappointed and make sure you get yourself one of these beautiful products today.

Love, Tilly 🐚 x
